App description: The Pokerbot team is honored to have been featured as a TUAW daily app.

"Very well designed...I kept coming back for more... real poker should be like this" - Razorianfly.com review

Pokerbot is a simple but very fun heads-up (1 on 1) poker game. The advanced artificial intelligence adapts to your skill level, whether you are a total beginner to Holdem or you're an old Texas road dog.

--------------------------
FLEXIBLE AND POWERFUL A.I.
--------------------------
The artifical intelligence in Pokerbot was written to act like an actual person, and we consulted with lots of great poker players while creating the game. This means Pokerbot thinks, bets, calls and bluffs like real humans do.

--------------------------
A GREAT WAY TO LEARN POKER
--------------------------
Pokerbot is perfect if you want to get into poker but are intimidated to play live or online, and worried you'll mess up. In fact, the game actually started out as a poker training program.

A tutorial is built-in to teach you poker. If you ever need to check something like if a flush beats a straight, we have a clear and colorful hand ranking chart right inside the app - heck, take it to your home game and pretend to be texting someone when you need to sneak a peak ;)

-----------------------------------------------------
DIFFERENT SPEEDS LET YOU PLAY SHORTER OR LONGER GAMES
-----------------------------------------------------
Sneak in a really quick 1 or 2 minute game or a longer one with our 4 built-in speeds. If you've played SNGs on sites like Zynga, Facebook poker, Pokerstars, etc., you'll be able to match the speed to what you're used to.

------------------------------------------
SPECIAL CARD-SWITCHING FEATURES - ONETIME!
------------------------------------------
To spice things up and add some action to the game, Pokerbot includes a feature called ONETIME which is brand new and exclusive to Pokerbot. ONETIMEs are kind of like little tiny cheat codes: You can use one per hand to switch one of the cards you don't like. So if you are trying to make a flush and the river card doesn't help, you can get a new one by using a ONETIME. Maybe you'll hit it this time!

-------------------------
ACHIEVEMENTS AND TROPHIES
-------------------------
There are a ton of achievements you can hit in the game to win trophies and ONETIME credits. Bluff Pokerbot by going all-in on the river with a bad hand and making him fold? Trophy! Miracle comeback to win a game? Trophy! Even when you just do some easier things like make a full house for the first time you'll win a trophy.

There are 34 trophies right now with more coming soon.

-------------------------------------
RANKS - FROM NOOB TO NINJA AND BEYOND
-------------------------------------
Pokerbot has a built in career mode - our rank system. You start at the lowest rank - NOOB - and you move up when you add money to your bankroll. The higher in rank you go, the more money you can risk per game - but make sure not to tilt and lose a ton of games, you can move down too if you're not taking things seriously!

----------------------
OPENFEINT LEADERBOARDS
----------------------
See how your bankroll and trophies stack up against your friends or the world.

--------------------------------
HOT STREAKS AND SUPERHOT STREAKS
--------------------------------
We've included some other fun stuff in Pokerbot too. For instance, if you win 2 games in a row, you're on a hot streak and you get to play a game for double the stakes. If you win *5* games in a row, you're on a superhot streak and it gets really wild: You get to play a bonus round where you're trying to win while only being dealt 7-2 offsuit (the worst hand in poker) every hand. Do so and you get a nice reward and a trophy. It's surprisingly addictive! Look for more even cool twists and rounds like this in future updates.

Hi guys,

I don't post here that often but I lurk a lot. I'm very excited to post my new game here, as you may have guessed from the name it's an iPhone poker app (heads up NL Texas Holdem), but with a bunch of extra stuff - achievements, leveling up, bonus rounds, OpenFeint leaderboards, all that sort of stuff. Let me know if you have any questions, comments, whatever!

No poker fans?

I am surprised there isn't more action on this thread.. The developer despite having a rather odd name is quite a nice fellow.

Despite being a rather simple app, I have had hours of game time already and for a poker lover it is a great time waster. Played in the car all the way to and from work (with the girlfriend driving of course)

In any case don't expect any fancy graphics or deep storyline but for anyone thinking about it, its a decent game at a decent price

Game Impressions

Besides the untrustworthy bot, i like the different type of poker the games offers; great thing we can change the cards, and the achievements are cool but random (ex you won with a jack + 5...). Original but slightly boring. 3 out of 5.

I don't find this game the least bit boring. Before I played pokerbot, I knew verrry little about poker, and now Im really gettin the hang of it. The graphics are so clean, colorful and I love bit-style graphics. I can definately see this app ranking #1 in Cards.

Even though I've gotten the hang of it, I'm still stuck at around $1300 in my bankroll lol. The highest I got was 1900 but plummeted a couple games. That.bot.gets.me.every.time!!!

Edit: btw, the game is on sale!?! .99. I think you better get your copy before the sale ends. You'll regret it if you don't!

Not sure what you mean about the untrustworthy bot unless that's a joke! But if you are wondering about randomness or whatever, the outcomes of all the hands are truly random - some poker games in the App Store kind of "rig" it so that the AI doesn't river the player that much because people sometimes complain about that. Some other poker games deal you unrealistically good holecards all the time so you feel like "woo this is great I can't lose". Pokerbot doesn't do those things, for better or worse, it's all random.

The Jack-5 achievement is actually a bit of an inside joke for really hardcore online poker fans, it ties in with a micro-meme that's pretty funny to big poker nerds like me, so I slipped it in there. The rest are pretty much normal stuff (ie. make a great bluff, make a great laydown, make a royal flush, etc etc)

Clean UI. I played poker but I did not know the basics. Now I know what is Flop, turn and river! Good to practice. One strange thing though: I can't exit to main menu during the game?
Well I'm going back to practice some more before commenting more...

You are right, at the moment you have to finish a game before exiting to the menu. It sort of ties into how the bankroll system works, since if you could just quit everytime you're losing, you'd never lose! There will probably be some sort of feature to go back to the menu and save your game temporarily in the next update (even though this situation doesn't come up much since the games are pretty short).
