App description: Ten years ago the zombie threat started. No one knows where it started, but within days every continent had an outbreak. Those that survived the initial attack made their way to Greenland to regroup and plan their offensive.

The time has come to reclaim the Earth. Most of the zombies have been rendered immobile by natural disasters, accidents, and general decay. There are still small groups roaming our cities, and it is time to wipe them out.

Your job is to demolish the remaining cities with a heavy zombie population. This will be a difficult mission as the plane can only carry four bombs at a time. Using your targeting software, you must level each city so it lies below the Red Zone, enabling ground forces to come in and clear the area.

Obliteration is a hand drawn game that is fun for people of all ages. Featuring one touch game play, anyone can pick up and play the game.

* 35 levels spread across 7 stages
* Game Center Leaderboards
* Physics based destruction
* Tiny Tiny Zombies!

* Tap anywhere to drop a bomb.
* Tap again to explode the bomb, or let it hit the ground.
* Get the 'city height' (white) line below the 'red zone' (red) line to complete each level.
* You get a score bonus for knocking building pieces into the sky or off the screen.
* Bombs are affected by the direction and speed of the wind. Pay attention to the clouds!

Obliteration HD is available now in the App Store right now for only $1.99!

Back Story:
It’s been 10 years since Zombies first appeared, laying waste to everything. Those lucky enough to be away from the main continents were able to regroup in Greenland and survive.

The time has come to rebuild. Your job is to demolish all areas with a heavy zombie population. Using your state of the art airplane, and a bunch of bombs, you must obliterate EVERYTHING! Travel around North America and make way for progress. That is your mission. DO NOT FAIL!!

Hi Everyone,

I've got some good news on the update. I did some stress testing today. When making the game and obviously not having an iPad to test with, I kept the number of moving actors on screen to what I know worked on an iPhone 3Gs, around 25 tops. I did some tests tonight on the iPad, and I had over 50 moving actors with very little hit on the FPS. I think 45-50 is probably the sweet spot.

So I've got back to my original artwork and started slicing up the buildings into smaller pieces so they explode apart more naturally. I've also started drawing some international landmarks you can blow up too. It's all in the name of killing zombies so it's ok

I've written about it at length here: http://howihatethenight.com/2010/04/...-hd-in-review/

But, the quick version:

1. New distressed building art
2. New building cut points
3. New fire / smoke / water effects
4. More buildings per level
5. Minor bug fixes

The biggest change is the purpose of the game. Previously all you had to do was blow stuff up, but you got no indication you did a good job outside of your score, but it didnt matter what you did in each level. Now it does. There is now a Red Zone line under which you must bring every building. If you look at the screenshot below, you can see the new building artwork, as well as the Red Zone indicator and the building height indicator. You have to get that line under the red zone line in order to pass each level:
