...and if the fanboy is supposed to be me, I own a 360 and a ton of games, but there hasn't been a decent exclusive since Forza 3, and even that was a letdown

Hi, for those of you who spent 200 MS Points or more last month, check your emails for a free Halo: Reach Banshee Avatar Prop. If you didn't get one, stay tuned because I might decide to drop my banshee code here.

If anyone knows what a license transfer is and you have the classic WAW zombie maps for black ops, I'm willing to give you my black ops DLC and or MW2 DLC.

For those in the US, Dirt 3 is $39.99 at kmart this week. But dealing with them is painful. Instead I've let amazon know about the better price and am keeping my fingers crossed. Plus then I wouldn't have to pay tax. If they don't come through, though, I'll probably grin and bear it and head to kmart, or maybe order online from them.

Child of Eden is getting good reviews and apparently is genuinely better with Kinect. Also, vibrating controllers in your pockets - what's not to like?
Definitely want to pick it up, but Amazon slow shipping would delivery it to me while I was away on vacation late next week. I wish I had Amazon Prime, but that's a lot of money to put out just for faster shipping. Maybe I'll swallow my pride and go buy it at kmart where they're offering a $15 gaming coupon (but it sucks, because it's only good for 45 days, starting next week).

The reviews seem to be consistently positive on Metacritic, where it currently has an 85, including about Kinect and how that enhances the experience. The only real complaint seems to be that it's short. I've read 3 hours and even 90 minutes. However it's a shooter. I can finish a Cave shooter in 30 minutes (or less), but that's not really the end of it. It's about high scores (and one crediting them). Well, I hope this game is like that.
![]() EDIT: also a lot of comments about how the game was clearly designed as a Kinect game. Here's joystiq's glowing review: http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/14/child-of-eden-review/ Last edited by crunc; 06-15-2011 at 10:08 AM.. |

Interesting. I wonder if the flaws have actually been fixed or it remains the same but Destructoid just happened to hate it. To be honest most of the Kinect games I've played involved mindlessly waving my arms around with no real control, so if you're into that stuff anyway then I suppose you might as well be playing a game by Mizuguchi.
I know we're in the 360 thread, but do any of the reviews focus on Move controls? |

EDIT: I just found out that Child of Eden is $39.99 at toysrus.com and apparently it's the same price in-store, though the price on the shelf may say $49.99! I'm going to check it out for sure. http://www.toysrus.com/product/index...FindSrc=search Or you can buy online and get free shipping. Last edited by crunc; 06-15-2011 at 11:22 AM.. |

I just put in an order at TRU with in-store pickup for Child of Eden @ $39.99+tax. It will be a Fathers Day gift for me. Yeah!
I'll post my impressions once I've had a good chance to try it out. Also, allegedly Redboxes are rolling out nationwide game rentals, but so far they aren't showing up as being at my local Redbox. They will supposedly have Dirt 3 once they do, so I'll give that a rental, at least, presuming video games really do show up locally. Price is $2 per day.
