L.A. Noire and Rayman Origins are both on sale for $19.99 (new) right now at GameStop. Both sound like pretty good deals. L.A. Noire looks like a lot of fun, but something I'd never touch again after spending 10-15 beating it's campaign. RO just sounds awesome. Plenty of content and local mp. I've been needing a platformer for the 360 too. Haven't played any of the other Rayman games though, so I'm not sure what it's all about. Getting one of them at least. Comments?
Edit: Looks like I don't have a choice in this anymore, lol. Gf is getting me RO as a gift xP. Last edited by backtothis; 02-15-2012 at 11:04 PM.. |

My impression of Rayman:
http://forums.toucharcade.com/showpo...&postcount=214 That's not to say it's a bad game though, far from it. Beautiful graphics too, we need some more classic 2D games remade in 1920x1080. Streets of Rage for a start. |

I tried the demo of Rayman a while back and I wasn't super crazy for it. It probably would have seemed great if I wasn't the type that when there is some medal or something to go for in a level, I'll always try to go for it. OCD that way. And the problem is that early in the game there is one that is hanging over a pit and I kept falling and having to start the level over again, and then I just stopped trying/playing. I didn't even finish the demo. LOL.

Just finished RAGE. The game clock only counted 11 hours, and that's with all the side quests and stuff, which I think I finished all of. Including all my deaths, the total game time would probably be bumped up to 12 or 13 hours, meh. But um, what the bloody hell was that ending? I don't think it could possibly have had a less spectacular ending for a game of its nature. I was waiting for explosions, an epic cutscene, anything..but no..an uninspiring 15 second clip and then the credits. Guess there's room for a second game..
Anyways, although the game got pretty repetitive, it was short enough so it wasn't boring. New enemies were introduced about every two hours to keep up the variety. It's a decent game. Quite a few weapons and gadgets to use. The RC car-bomb was really fun to use. I guess I'll stick in the third disc now and at least try the multiplayer out. Wondering if I should run through AC Revelations or Arkham City next. Probably going to go with AA since I'm already 2 hours in compared to the 30 minutes I've spent with ACR. Edit: The multiplayer actually isn't bad at all. You can do mini-missions (about 30 minutes each) with people online or split-screen. They're all insanely difficult though. Enemies literally take 5 direct shotgun shells to kill. Lots of fun if you have someone you know to play with though. Took two tries to beat one (45 minutes). I thought "Road Rage" would be combat racing, but it's more like arena combat, which is pretty cool too. You have to play a lot in order to level up to earn better vehicles and equips though. Anyways, multiplayer definitely surpasses my expectations, lol. Not something I'll play too much of though. Last edited by backtothis; 02-16-2012 at 07:26 PM.. |

Just stopped by to say you should all be excited for SSX in a couple of weeks, and if you're not it's probably because your brain is malfunctioning, so you might wanna get a medical opinion on that.

I have SSX pre-ordered and I'm mostly pretty excited for it, but also really disappointed that they didn't include splitscreen multiplayer. I was looking forward to playing it with my kids, side-by-side, and that's a bust. Even the PS2 and Gamecube had that, so that's really lame that they couldn't do it for this game. At least it turns out that it does have live online play, which for a while wasn't clear. Actually I still don't think it's been made completely clear, but at this point I'm presuming it does for my own sake. LOL.
