So identical game to the iPhone version but with rescaled graphics and a bigger play area (8x10 as opposed to 8x5 on the iPhone).

While curious, I'd rather not have to re-buy the same game especially since the iPhone version is broken in multiple levels as of last build:

1) Power Pill on outer rim doesn't appear to do anything (and is key to a number of the game's acheivements).

2) As of this last iPhone build, tiles you need to clear (need to make a match over the certain tiles) aren't being updated (removed) once you've made a match over them (the game accurately tracks this but the graphics aren't updating properly).

Thanks for the comments - I was initially tempted - but I'll wait for updates...

Aw, really sad they didn't go for universal. I already bought the iPhone version.

Humm, that game keeps crashing on my ipad after chapter 5 ou 6...
Aside from that little disappoinment, it's a great game sold at a good price.

Is the shut down problem 100% for everyone?

Humm, I wonder about that too.
I didn't try to shutdown my Ipad and to restart it.
Maybe it will solve the problem but I doubt it.

By the way, 7 replies ?
No one cares about that game (with pac man inside and a low price tag) ?

It crashed on me during the first "coffee break" so I powercycled my ipad and it's worked great ever since

I'd be interested if they had either:

a: released this simultaneously with the Iphone version
b: make this a universal release

I bought the iPhone version, and other than the graphic upgrade, nothing new here other than another $2 to spend on a game I already have. I'm passing on the HD stuff unless it does one of those two things.

I'd pony up the $2 if there was more to the HD version than graphics, but as they're not I can play this game just fine on my iPhone or on my iPad with pixel doubling. The graphics are based on a 20 year old game... they don't gain THAT much as an HD version.

I hope devs get a little more considerate toward their customers in how they handle this new dual (triple, really) platform iOS world. I don't mind 2 seperate versions (Azkend, for example) when the first version was pre-iPad, but new releases really are starting to frustrate me when they come out a week or two apart and the dev makes no mention of a forthcoming version on the other platform.

I do agree with you.
It does anger me to see an ipad version of an ipod game I just bought to be released out of the blue.

This time, however, I was lucky and didn't buy the ipod version of pac match.
As a new buyer, this is a cool looking and good game but an universal version would have been nice.

By the way, a good shutdown/reset of my ipad seemed to have resolved the crashing issue.
