App description: Note: This version of the Secret Agent game now has graphics that are scaled correctly for the iPhone 3 and iPhone 4, even though they aren't the high resolution graphics that are in the Secret Agent 4G version.

A shadowy group pursues their masterplan and your mission is to find your way up through their
organization using your wits and your weapons until you determine what they are really up to.

In the Cote d'Azur find your way through warehouses, high society parties, office buildings, casinos and construction sites. Thugs and
enemy agents will stand in your way until you take on the boss himself at the top of the world. Hide from
enemy agents behind working doors and ride the working elevators through a six story construction site
until you corner the boss for the showdown. You'll use knives, pistols, auto-shotguns, mines, and grenades
to keep your enemy at bay as well as Night Vision Goggles, and an Invisibility Jacket to sneak
past your enemies without firing a shot!

With real life animation, find secret rooms and open safes to find the secrets needed to complete
your mission. And the biggest secret of all is how to destroy the boss and discover the
secret that he possesses.

Amateur city, unfortunately. It may be called "Secret Agent" but it's just a simple brawler/shooter with not stealth or spy tasks -- you basically make your way down a hallway and shoot things. (The description speaks of invisibility jackets and sneaking past enemies, but none of that was evident on the first level.) The game is slow, and it has weirdly placed controls (the movement stick is on the right, with no option for switching), blurry graphics and strange hit detection. You can technically move in 3 dimensions -- not just left and right -- but it seems to make no difference as far as aiming or getting hit. The animation is very simple, and besides the hero sporting a fetching tuxedo there's nothing else in the game that brings to mind 007 or the spy genre in general.

The sad thing is the idea of a side-scrolling spy game is very cool-- like a James Bond-themed Assassin's Creed II (the iPhone version, I mean). This ain't it, though.

Please note that you only checked out the first level, and didn't find the secret on the first level. Most levels have secrets.

Since you can move in the z direction you can avoid enemies. You can ride the elevators to the other floors and also avoid enemies. You have mines you can use to lay traps. The invisibility jacket and night vision goggles can be obtained at later levels. There is also a laser vaporize weapon which is shown when clicking the button HowToPlay.

You can hide behind door frames and avoid getting hit.
