How up to date are the team rosters?

And how different is the controls from this and last years version?

I hate to say but I think I like the first one a little better even without the player names. My biggest complaint is why do we have to play in portrait mode ? Maybe i'm missing something but I don't see an option to change it. Plus the button to swing changes from the left to the right side of the screen depending on if your batter is left or right handed. I don't see the need for that. It screws your timing up. I really wanted to like this game but I think it falls short to the original though.
