Learn to read and write Japanese Kanji on the iPad

We've recently put up a game on the Apple App Store for learning Japanese on the iPad. It's called Kanji for Fun!

There are two parts to the program:

First is the game – A simple yet addictive matching game that lets you pair Japanese characters to their English meanings. Even if you know nothing about Japanese, just playing in practice mode or sneaking a peek at the game list will greatly increase your Kanji proficiency. And if you’re an expert, you can try some of the more advanced grades and play with a larger grid.

Second is the reference list - It contains the entire Joyo Kanji list (with nearly 2000 Kanji). Using the reference, you take a few quiet moments with your iPad where you can learn new characters, study their readings, or practice writing stroke orders with your finger.

To see more details and screenshots (and a Kanji learning reference list) go to:

Kanji for Fun! is on the App Store at:

Please let us know what you think by sending us feedback at:

We're truly dedicated to making this the #1 game from learning Japanese Kanji on the iPad and we can't do that without your help.

Thank you.

Game mode reminds me of KanjiPop which is excellent. Kudos for making this for iPad too. Definitely allow ability to turn off romaji.
