Considering the fact that this is more expensive than the iPhone version, does anyone know if it includes any of the DLC from that version or is that going to have to be purchased in this version? Other than the graphics update it seems that they just added some coins to collect and I wouldn't be surprised to see that added to the other version later.

This iPad version already includes 6 maps ( Funfair, The Halloween Night, Christmas Time , Lunar, The World of Fabulia and The traditional Japan), there isn't any in-app-purchases required!

The major update are the graphics that have been completely redrawn and looks really crisp and beautiful on the iPad screen, and the coins, that's true.
Besides that, there is a new user interface and we added more details and ambiance effects (snow in the Christmas time map, fog in Halloween, etc). We are also working on a free update that will include a split-screen multiplayer mode.

That sounds great. I will probably grab this today, any guess as to when the split screen will be ready?

As much as I like line drawing games I just couldn't really get into the iPhone/iPod Touch version of CrossRoads. Everything about it seemed great but I think the little challenges on each map like breaking the ice that builds up or popping baloons (while a very neat idea) just became tedious. I ended up deleting the app and I'm sticking with Flight Control or Harbor Master.

Good luck with the iPad version though.

Very nice! It's great to see a developer giving actual added value for an iPad version of an app when they charge more. The extra included content along with the upcoming split screen multi-player looks like this justifies the extra money.

I've added this to my wish list for consideration after I've played some of the many games sitting on my iPad that I haven't tried yet.

Is there a lite version coming? I'm much more likely to spend $5 on an iPad game that I can actually try first.

@BazookaTime

We don't have a release date for the update that will include the split-screen mode yet, but we plan to submit it probably between the first and the second week of August.

Thank you LordVader and Drucifer!

@Finandir

Thank you! We will also add a training mode in a future update.
For the moment, we don't plan to launch a lite version, we focus on improving the complete game.

Game Impressions

Crossroads comes to the big screen...kind of like Crossroads being played in an IMAX Theatre!

For folk already familiar with the game it is just like the original but with niftier graphics and effects as well as 6 maps without any in-app purchases (so the original game plus the two free maps for the original). One new aspect are the lines of coins that will occasionally pop up temporarily from time to time. A subtle new tweak that can often displace your carefully laid plans in your greed for a few extra points.

For those new to the series it is a fun line drawer based on routing vehicles to their color coded endpoints without allowing any of them to bump into each other (which then ends the game). One aspect novel to Crossroads is how each map, besides having a unique layout and art style, will always have its own gimmick. Most of these gimmicks are based on the player needing to perform some special gesture to clear the screen of some environmental hazard (shake your devices to remove clouds, tap on balloons to pop them, tap to fire a laser cannon to blow up a UFO, etc.) so you can continue your routing unhindered.

My only whine at this point, also relevant to the iPhone version, is that the Twitter/Facebook score postings don't mention the map you just got them on. Since these maps can vary significantly in their difficulty, just a generic post of "X just scored 25 points in Crossroads" doesn't mean much on its own. I'm hoping it wouldn't be much harder to change the post to, "X just scored 25 point on the Halloween map of Crossroads". I figure, if nothing else, it might be a neat way to let folk know about NEW MAPS once they become available.

On sale! $4.99-->$0.99

I couldn't pass it up at that price. Plus, I enjoyed the iPhone version. With the inclusion of all of the iPhone DLC, it's a steal for a buck.
