Destroying your enemy gives the defense units EXP points; the more damage a unit will inflict, the higher its ranking will be. As its ranking and medal count increases, defense units gain more abilities such as stun, teleportation, money steal, life steal, heavy damage, fast speed, wide range, critical hit, additionally more medals will results in more exp points. - Upgrade automatically depending on the performance of each defense unit.
- Take advantage of the slowing spots on the battle zone to survive.
- Random medal system. Every time is a different experience.
- Endless waves to challenge your wisdom and luck.
- Internet ranking list to compete with the world for the highest score.

The medals give you extra defense power. Equipping them as soon as you get them on the right unit really prolong your survival time. When you get high-rank medals, put them high-rank units and move their old low-rank medal to low-rank units. Thus you make full use of all the medals.

There are several spots on every stage that will slow down ground enemies. In order to make defense more efficient, you can block the route of enemies to make them go through the slow-down spots.

Defense unit upgrades automatically. Shoot an enemy, you can 1 exp point. Destroy one, you get 5 points. Place your favorite defense unit where destroy enemies at every turn to upgrade it sooner.

Use E.M.P to slow down enemies when you dont have enough time to stop them. And use TNT as the last resort to protect your base. Theyre quite expensive, so use them wisely at the very necessary time.

When you have excess defense power, call up the next wave of enemies to earn bonus money.

Oh I loved this on iPhone... Awesome to see it on iPad, it's easily the best of their TD games and has a unique level of depth to it not found in other TD games... Its not as colourful or instantly appealing as fieldrunners but it's got much more to play around with.

Because there's a certain level of randomness to it, even though I generally use the same strategy each time I find it plays out quite differently every play. So, maybe not as pretty as the competition, but it has quality where it counts : the gameplay

I thought it was just ok on the iPhone, not nearly as good as the best ones available.

On the other hand, for only 99 cents, I will certainly give it a try.

Once you get into level 100+ it does take ages to finish a wave... I'm on 130 on medium ATM, it's soooo slow... As much as I love the game, I do wish there was a x2 button

...that would be a very welcome addition indeed

It is just open field, much like fieldrunners. There are bits of the terrain that you can use to your advantage to slow enemy.

In case the depth of this was lost on anyone and it just looks like another fieldrunners clone:

There are 10 "towers", nine of which can upgrade 7 (I think) times (these upgrades are signified by rank, private, sergeant, captain etc), but instead of you paying money to upgrade them they earn xp with each kill and upgrade on their own.

There is a significant difference between each tower, some only attack ground units.

Each tower has range, attack speed, attack power, chance to stun, chance to steal enemy hp for cash, chance to deal 5x damage, chance to get new medal, chance to repair (earn another life - start with 20) and chance to teleport enemy back to spawn point.

You earn medals somewhat randomly that can be equipped on towers, the basic towers can equip one, the most upgraded can equip six, and they can only equip medals of their rank (sergeant, captain, major etc) these medals improve the stats mentioned in last point (range, attack power etc)

Effectively, there's thousands (conservative number lol) upon thousands of unique towers. Part of the addiction is that magic moment when you get a really special medal, and then trying to figure out how best to equip your towers with them. When you have 30-40 medals to use, it can provide very different results. You can select an enemy for all towers to focus on which I think stacks the effects (certainly seems to) and you also have four weapons you can deploy by touching the screen, so it's not a game that you simply watch, you get involved in the action too.

As I mentioned before, it's not the most colourful or pretty TD you can buy, but IMHO it's one of the best and most fun. Towermadness is still my favourite TD as it offers so much, and when geodefence gets an iPad iteration that will be the best TD for puzzle fans, this game is best for value and replayability.

And rockiphone please, please, please add in a x2 and x3 speed button...
