But who has a wiimote AND a classic controller when he's on the go? Do you plan any kind of tilt control (Super monkey ball style) or whatever internal control for analog steering of Starwars, Arkanoid and stuff?

The mame team doesn't allow anyone to make money from it, Zoddtd got into trouble for originally charging for his port of mame.

I have a Wiimote AND a Classic controller in my work bag and use it extensively in my lunch break!

What's the difference? Analog is there - you use it at home, or you take the classic/mote with you, or if you don't want to do that, you use the touch screen. It's all about choices.

Hey Seleuco,

Any chance you can change the mame4all main icon? It doesn't look and fit quite right on the screen.

I change the icon myself, but when a new update comes out, i have to do it again.

A few pages back, rocklobster designed a good icon for it, maybe you could try that.

Hi there, firstly I must say well done on an amazing app and addition to the iPhone emulation/homebrew scene =)

I was involved in the original xbox emulation scene for a while and it was fantastic fun! I only hope that the iPhone continues to grow and the homebrew scene along with it =)

For some reason iMame4all doesn't seem to be saving my hiscores? I've tried a few games, 1942, asteroids and Galaga and have reached the hiscores on all of them, but none are saved after I exit and re-enter the game =( I'm using v 1.4 on an iPhone 4, has anyone else had this problem?

On another note, has anyone used one of the 'retro wireless wii controllers' made by datel with this emulator or any others for that matter? I'm considering getting one for just that purpose to save lugging around both a wiimote and classic wired controller.

Any help is greatly appreciated, and keep up the good work =)

I do not want to create the misconception that I have make iMAME4all to make money.

I know that MAME team does not like people making money at their expense...

The few donations I have received directly I've spent on hardware (wiimotes) and a few beers.

... And I am very grateful!

I have done iMAME4all mainly because I wanted to have a MAME for IPAD and the project was abandoned by ZodTTD...

I'll be busy with work the next two months.. so i plan one more update, adding a new art and controller layout from a person who has developed and are fantastic.

But i do not abandon the project, and maybe later add the control type you want.

If the only problem you see is the icon is that I've done a great job , seriously the MAME logo is a TM.... but in next update i put the new icon sent by the person I've said before.

Maybe it could be related to permissions.. try to chmod 777 ROMs/iMAME4all folders...

I had never heard of that controller! That does sound pretty good, although on NintendoLife I found a comment thread and at least one person reported terrible battery life, going through multiple sets of AAA batteries in only a few days. Hmm. Maybe solvable with rechargeable batteries? I might give this thing a shot, but Datel does tend to me poor quality peripherals, so I don't know.

Anyway, Amazon lists it as unavailable. I suppose there is always ebay. Any other sources for it?

EDIT: can't find it on ebay either. Hmm. Another possibility is the Nyko Wing Wireless controller. It doesn't get rid of the reliance on a Wii Remote, but the connection to the remote is wireless, so I could put the Wii Remote in my backpack, perhaps. Not ideal, though, by any means.

Yeah the rechargeable AAA option would work better for me IMO, mainly because I don't actually hav a wii, and also because I could easily carry a set or two of charged spares if I'm away from a charger for a while =)

Be sure to let us know if u do find a place to get one, either the datel or the nyko and how it works out for u! If I find an option that works well I'm going to mod it to make a cradle/mount for the iPhone so that I can sit directly on the controller whilst playing! How goodwould that be!?
