I think you mean "Paradroid".

It seems to be a pretty accurate remake. It's just as hard as I remember.

The controls are tilt to move, and touch to shoot. This works pretty well.

Already saw it as well, but will wait for some more responses, but i think if you someone liked Paradroid, then there can't be much wrong with getting this one?

If you really like the original, there's not much wrong with this version. The look and sound are spot on. It has auto calibration for the tilt control.

However, there doesn't seem to be a way to reset the calibration. If you happen to be holding your device at a bad angle when you start, you're stuck with it unless you restart. Also, I can't find any way to pause/restart, so you need to exit the app to restart your game.

I tried following the links in the appstore to ask the dev about these omissions, but the links are currently dead.

These problems are relatively minor. My biggest problem is I always wanted to like the original, but found it too hard. This version is just the same.

Does anybody have any tips for playing this game? I'm finding it really tough. I've never cleared more than maybe 2 or 3 levels. I suppose I need to learn which levels to clear first. It just seems that I will feel I'm doing well, and then I find a tough opponent and it's over in seconds.

I didn't play this game much in 1985 because I was 3 years old and some of the concepts went over my head. On revisiting the game, all these years later, I am surprised by the depth of gameplay. The expansive maze-like arena that you are free to explore, plus the mini battles allowing you to upgrade to stronger droids, make this feel a little like an early RPG. If you aren't excited already, might I mention, you also shoot lasers. The pictures don't do it justice. If you are an '80s baby (or older,) you should check this one out.

I don't know. Why don't you ask the developer?
