This is real-time game--, with a heavy emphasis on the economy (you need A to make B and B to make C). It's really very different from Civilization.

I love The Settlers on iPhone, one of my fave games.

However, I was really hoping/expecting they would include a sandbox mode in the iPad version, but it isn't mentioned so assume they haven't included one.

BIG shame.

I second the need for a sandbox mode.

That is my favorite way to play Settlers.

That had to happen, I have the iphone version, removed it for more place to reinstall later... And now the HD when I never played the iphone version. Dam sales.

Well, I purchased it.

It has a great view of the landscape, far more on screen than the iPhone version.

However, there's no sandbox mode.

BOO.
