Good graphics and tutorial. Tried the first game against the computer, and I sucked.

The sides of each square are either blank (for going against the edge of the board) or have a tab or slot. Pieces must match their position to be placed (tabs must meet up with slots on adjoining pieces; blank sides must be on the outer edge f the board). Slots and tabs are also colored. The colors do NOT have to match in order to place a piece, but if they do, you "claim" not only the piece you just played, but also the piece you made the color match with. Furthermore, if another piece has been previously connected to that one via the same color, you claim that one too!

That probably sounds confusing, but it won't once you give it a try.

Sorry, one little bump. Hopefully some of the puzzle nuts will see this.
I played a couple of games and this is quite nice for a free app. Remains to be seen whether I'll be compelled to play again and again. Add some sound to it and give you the option to keep the hint mode from the tutorial on and I think this would be a fine little dollar gem, personally.
