Hello Everyone,
This morning I was enjoying my morning coffee (not StarBucks Nirtew, espresso made with Pilon ) and the "bunch" of frogs arriving into my mailbox - domenic15 I lost count!, dean288367 Congrats Cardinals!, InBoots the Glass Chroma Insero is cool like "lightning bugs in a jar"!, laurafitz4, danjurus, lisianne, Quossum, SnappyMcFrog, jklau glad to read that your game is good!, dlstar do I dare start playing Dragonvale?!, andinz1970 the All Blacks and what exactly is Haka?. Thank you all for the gifts this past week!Been reading the posts by InBoots, DeanKeith and lisianne about the community surrounding Pocket Frogs. I enjoy the ability to "gift" to others and the social interaction. I signed up for a new ID, and a new game of frogs out of a desire to be more "a part of" the game and the community which is a first for me. Was watching the Cardinals play the Rangers Friday night with a friend who used to live in St. Louis, he misses that atmosphere of comradery with other Cardinals fans. Not related (or maybe it is), he is now "hooked" on Pocket Frogs. He has managed to get to level 13 in a week!!! Enjoy the game, and have fun! And Happy Halloween! Working on Awards and Sets. |

The Haka is traditionally known as a Maori war dance or challenge, which is why it is performed by the All Blacks before every game, but there are many other reasons why one might be performed as well - to welcome guests, or as a mark of respect, for example. They are usually (but not exclusively) performed by men.
The ABs have two that they commonly use, the most famous is called Ka Mate (pron Kah Mah-tay). It is a Haka attributed to the Maori chief Te Rauparaha, who controlled my part of NZ during the 'Musket Wars' that led to the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi, now considered the document on which our nation is founded, much like the Declaration of Independence in the USA (but with important philosophical and political differences). If you look up All Blacks Haka on YouTube, there are several videos. The Haka is not entirely unique to NZ, many Polynesian peoples have Haka, though they often go by other names - Sipi Tau in Tonga, and Siva Tau in Samoa for example. More than you ever wanted to know?
