Hey all , I am looking for a good turn based millitary / war game that has different military unit types with direct and indirect attacks that offers a good strategic challenge .

What do you recommend ?

"Blood & Honor"

Risk clone w/ WWII vibe. Lots of options.

Civ is a good suggestion, but the military theme is in short supply for TBS games on the iOS.

I had one called "Bellum Tactics" which was a pretty good 3D modern military TBS. It was pulled from the app store, but I recall it came back. Check it.

My favorite games similar to what you mentioned are :

Slay (tons of levels - kind of addictive - not a lot of units)
UniWar (runs 2x but its the best IMO, and i has good multiplayer which can notify you when its your turn even if your in another app)
Assault Commander HD : havent made up my mind about this yet... kind of like crimson fields, but interface is kind of lacking.
Eustrath HD is good too

Havent yet gotten into Rogue Planet or War3100 yet... they are 2x scaled (ipod) games, but i may get into rogue planet next.

I vote for this one too. I have spent more time on this game on various different platforms then any other computer game. Ever.
