Got this earlier, wanted to write about it but had no clue how to get the info from iTunes into a thread.
Gotta say, I wasn't 100% convinced until I watched the video... Very, very happy with my purchase, I have a stupidly large collection of TD games, and yet, even though I'm very fond of a lot of them, many of them just don't have that extra something to make them stand out in the genre. This one does, as there simply isn't any weak point. Every good TD game has a slight lacking somewhere, be it too few towers, lack of depth, not enough maps, low charm etc. Here, you get polish in pretty much every aspect, the graphics, controls, longevity and variety. If I were to find myself wishing there was something more I'd prefer more than 10 enemy types, but that's still more than some td games. Screenshots really don't do the game justice... here's most of what i left on itunes:
================ The armory popup on the main menu should show the weapon stats and any important info when an item is selected. Shouldn't have to buy and wait till you're in a fight to find out what you just spent your credits on. Fast forward/etc buttons should probably be on the screen all the time somewhere, rather than having to click on a menu button to access them. Continuing to play a map after winning the mission should allow you to continue earning credits. Playing skirmish games should allow you to earn credits as well. Like in SpaceStation HD, which I think inspired some of the mechanics in this game. Borrows a lot of features from other good games, but combines them well. Hoping for a patch soon to address these issues. ================= overall, i'm not happy with spending $5 on this. the one and only time i go against my rule of buying at full price on release...lesson learned. |

the game is great but here's what I'd ask the developer to look at:
- You have no idea upon which path the creeps are coming from or are going to take. It's ridiculous to build a strategy around their path because you get no information whatsoever. - The sound is not equalized, upgrading a unit sounds loud as hell but firing on one is very quiet. If you try to turn up sound to hear the firing, conversely the upgrading unit sound is deafening. Please equalize this out. - Upgraded units look the same as normal units. This is terrible because as you get more cannons you have no idea what needs upgrading since even a top of the line turret looks the same as level 1. Cmon guys! Other than that, the game has great promise but it needs some polishing. |
