The video doesn't show me much of how the actual fishing looks. I'm the biggest sucker for fishing games, but I'm gonna have to wait to get real impressions here before I hit the 'buy' button on this one.

So I've played for a bit, and initial impressions are very positive. It looks great, and seems to have a LOT of gameplay involved with a robust career mode. I can already say it's vastly superior to Fishing Kings. This will be my go-to for a sim fishing game, and I'll still play Field & Stream for arcade fishing.

hmm, can you go into a little detail about the controls?

Sure. It's basically all tilt and touch based. First, you tap on a GPS screen to choose a fishing spot. Next, you drive your boat to the spot via a throttle slider and tilt to steer. The boat steering is pretty touchy, but it doesn't really affect game play. When you get near the spot, stop the boat and choose your rod and tackle. Flick forward to cast and back to stop the cast. The closer to the target you get the better fish are available. Each time you switch to below water view you have the option to flick your phone in directions that are prompted on screen. Doing so successfully will make the lure more attractive. When a fish bites, you yank back to hook it. Once you've done so, the view switches to above water. A reel on the right needs to be spun to reel in. A tension meter is on the left. You also have to tilt your pole depending on where the fish is in relation to you. When the fish gets close enough you flick up to net the fish. After a successful catch, you get all of the vital stats and a ranking/money which is used to buy new gear/tackle. Hope that helps.
