I don't hate you or anything, but I really want to post this song to kill off a few braincells. Hope you don't suffer too much from it:

Young bands + metalcore = post traumatic stress disorder for the listener, most of the time.

Btw Balu`, you know more bands that sound like Orden Ogan?
Nah. Production jobs that let me hear the stuff that's going on without sounding noisy. ^^

Hm, I've heard worse metalcore, but not many times. :>

I'll post some tomorrow, I think. I hope. I'll try not to forget. >.<

I'll have to check out some more Alcest to hear their blacker stuff. Atm, I only have Les Voyages De L'Âme.

Also, take my genre classifications with a grain of salt :P I piece it all together pretty loosely based off what bands claim to be and what just makes sense in my head. I organise my iTunes library into genres and sometimes forget what makes sense to me could be way off an accurate genre.
Maybe, but that might be one of the reasons (in addition to the "classical" lyrical themes) why I don't listen to much black metal. :>

Try this song:

The black metal influence here is pretty obvious.

Genres exist pretty much to give people a slight clue what the music will be like. Yours are just as good as any for that purpose. ^^

Ahh nice. Wasn't expecting it to be that much heavier. It sounds pretty awesome but. Seems I need to expand my collection!

@gunxsword:
Not much success at finding similar stuff.
How about these guys? Folk influences in power, vocals make it a lot closer to Falconer, though.

Some more somewhat folky power stuff, pretty random:

Closer to folk melodeath, still..:

Harsh vocals + female ones, interesting:

And you really should know these guys if you don't yet, they're nearly impossible to describe:

@Liam:
Haha, not all songs are that heavy on the album, but it's definitely the heaviest from them. Also, I hate it that their next albums won't have any harsh vocals. :c

How do you like this?

NEW BE'LAKOR sounds like a MDM wet dream! Not really, but it's a masterpiece. I'm pretty sure they're the biggest MDM band in Australia now .

Kiuas and Cadacross sound good, the rest were meh.

The Night Reveals was actually my favourite song for a few weeks :P Love it. I Like that crimfall song you posted to. I haven't had a chance to listen to the others yet.

@gunxsword: I'm listening to Aspect by Be'lakor right now, it's actually pretty ing awesome! Wouldn't expect them to be Australian. They have gigs coming up in melbourne, canberra and sydney but not Brisbane I drove down to sydney a few weeks ago for Arch Enemy. Almost tempted to go on another road trip lol.

edit: wow, didn't know TA had a swearing filter lol.

Didn't like Stone's Reach as much as The Frail Tide. Of Breadth and Bone is just one heck of a step up from both albums that both sound somewhat novice in comparison.

Btw, The Stranded – Survivalism Boulevard is a criminally catchy (poppy) MDM band (or modern MDM) if you're interested.

Bumpin' time! This stuff is REALLY awesome prog/black mix (with pretty good lyrics in my opinion). Recommended for everyone who visits this thread.

This is one of the less extreme songs on the album, but my favorite so far.

Huh? What's the rest?

Found the whole damn album to be wonderful... just sheer wonderful! Though I was intensely bored by the slow acoustic sections (forced me to split the first song into two parts, and shave off minutes off some other songs).

What do you like about prog anyway? Is it the tempo changes? I'm surprised to see you listen to Ne Obliviscaris (prog black) and I thought you didn't like aggressive music.

Dunno why you are asking me for recommendations, but try Lanfear - This Harmonic Consonance if you haven't heard of it. I'm loving it to bits!

*Edit: since you asked, I dunno if you'll like it but since you said 'anything', here goes a thrash song:
