On the issue of album of the year, I'm settling in with Allegaeon's Formshifter for the time being. Their mix of mindblowing melody and face-melting technicality are infectious (I'd change it to contagious if you turn out to like them ).
It's also got my 'album art of the year award' too .

Haha, we Hungarians can write some pretty horrible English lyrics too. Also our language isn't much closer to English in term of pronounciation than Chinese.
And yeah, I won't check that band out. :Đ

I guess I'll have to try that album too. Doesn't really sound like my cup of tea, though. >.<

Imo it's their best album, out of an already top-tier band.

Allmusic - Thrash, Metalcore, Death metal.
As well as some other websites having labelled them with similar genre tags.
I'd say they qualify for all the above.
The album sounds great anyhow, so I don't see why you're reacting -_-.

But jazz sounds so different from metalcore and MDM .

Recommend some similar bands plz... this is the style of prog metal that I can enjoy.

Anyway, it is pretty good for the genre. I only heard about them because of their upcoming tour with Devin Townsend and Fear Factory, which will take them to my city. :#

Can't argue with that. However, it's surprising how well those genres can complement each other.

I posted a shitload of similar bands already, one or two might've slipped my radar.

They're alright. I definitely enjoy their stuff when I hear it, but I couldn't really get into them.

Try Dark Empire - From Refuge to Ruin. It sounds similar, but different. You *might be able to get into their music.

No point in that. You might find some recommendations there, but going through 500 pages is just isn't worth it. >.<

Yeah, really similar! I'm not even sure you would've liked Circus Maximus or Redemption a few weeks ago.

I'll give it a try, though I've already got a pretty big backlog.

It's an amazing song, that's true. It doesn't beat Exit Strategy of a Wrecking Ball for me, though. :>
