Hi guys. I haven't been on in ages, been busy with a new job and such. Just thought i'd post some of the more recent stuff that i've been listening to. Still in love with the entire Hypomanie album that I linked a song from a month or so ago. But got some new stuff too:
Dopamine - Melting. Chinese "depressive black/shoegaze". A lot of it has a post-rock vibe but then has heavier sections. I'm not sure how to describe it, but they have really interesting guitar picking in their songs. Especially at the end of this song i'm posting... I dunno, maybe you guys can describe it better. Unfortunately they only made like 3 songs or something I think ![]() Youtube link | Pop Up Heretoir - Graue Bauten. This song has one of the most powerful intros i've come across. And the rest of the song is awesome as well. But goddamn. Heretoir are one of the most popular names in this new Post-black scene but there's not much "shoegaze"y-ness in this. Youtube link | Pop Up And lastly for now. This band i think is Russian.. Dont know much else about it other than that. All i know is this song is awesome. And it only goes for 2:49 so you have no excuse to not listen :P Youtube link | Pop Up |

I don't think I'll be too into this post-black genre - I really dislike black metal vocals, especially if they ruin the mood of a nice post-rock song. :x The first one's instrumental parts were awesome, though, and the second one's intro sounded pretty nice too. Maybe you'd like post-rock as well? I feel it's a really nice genre for times when one's in the mood for something quieter. :> Youtube link | Pop Up |

Aurora Borealis - Rainlight Youtube link | Pop Up Mono - Halcyon (Beautiful Days) Youtube link | Pop Up Ethereal Beauty - There's A Grey Cloud Above Us Youtube link | Pop Up Leech Inspiral Youtube link | Pop Up They typically take a while to build up, but check em out if you got some spare time. But now back to the metal! I came across this incredible band, Gallowbraid, yesterday. Wasn't expecting much because they're just described as folk/black metal which has been done a million times before. But even in this one song they have heaps of really awesome riffs, never get repetitive, they don't overdo the traditional sounding instruments, etc. Definitely gotta have a listen: Gallowbraid - Ashen Eidolon Youtube link | Pop Up |

Anyway, I knew some of those, but the rest were pretty good too. I know an insane amount of similar post-rock bands, there are lots of them out there. Some of my favorites: Youtube link | Pop Up Youtube link | Pop Up About Gallowbraid: It's rare I get to say this about a black metal band, but I actually know them! Pretty good stuff, this song especially. Also, still off topic, but there's a new Swans album out, pretty interesting (and creepy) stuff. Youtube link | Pop Up |

Whoops, late to the party. But, nice! Honestly, not my kind of metal these days, but it is pretty awesome quality.
