Strap in, kid -- and get ready to immerse yourself in the Star Wars universe like never before with Star Wars Arcade: Falcon Gunner." Available ONLY for IPHONE 4, IPHONE 3GS and IPOD TOUCH 4TH GEN, Falcon Gunner is the first Star Wars game with augmented reality technology, letting you do battle with the Empire just about anywhere.

AR MODE BRINGS THE FIGHT TO YOUR LIVING ROOM: Using your phone's camera, gyroscope/compass and accelerometer, Falcon Gunner turns your earthly surroundings into epic space battles and lets you control the action by steering your body in physical space. It's like nothing you've ever seen.

CLASSIC ARCADE ACTION, 20+ LEVELS: Inspired by the classic 1984 Star Wars arcade title, this first-person action game throws you into the Millennium Falcon's gunnery seat, letting you experience more than 20 levels of arcade action spanning the legendary smuggling vessel's most exciting moments -- including the Death Star escape, asteroid field pursuit across Hoth and infamous Kessel Run.

SPECIAL MODIFICATIONS: As you blast your way through waves of TIE fighters, Star Destroyers, and a few other special surprises, you'll earn credits that can be used to make special modifications to the Falcons offensive and defensive capabilities, including concussion missiles and a low-level tractor beam... perfect for grabbing TIE interceptors and launching them back at their black-helmeted buddies. (And if you're impatient, you can purchase them from within the game.)

RETINA DISPLAY SUPPORT: The Millennium Falcon's scratched-glass windshield has never looked as good as it does on iPhone 4 and iPod Touch (4th Gen).

I'll be snapping this bad boy up tonight A-Sap. I fancy treating myself to Star Wars Trench Run too. I wanna be a 10-year-old again! That's great Luke, don't get cocky! Gold Leader standing by...(yes, I guess I am a nerd).

Why does every Star Wars game on iPhone feel like a placebo?

Well said. I'm getting this one anyway, but it would be great to see a fully-realized Star Wars game on the platform. Seeing that The Force Unleashed II on the big consoles is a dud, perhaps this is easier said than done. I'd love to see an X-Wing remake.

In the meantime, we have
Galaxy on Fire 2 (space fighting and trading, Han Solo style)
Wings of Glory (multiplayer dogfighting, X-Wing Vs. TIE Fighter style)
Star Pagga (needs more players! get in there)

And you can easily make a Canadian iTunes account to try the freemium Star Wars: Imperial Academy game (Eliminate with a new skin).

Star battalion is probably the best star wars clone available.

FYI, it is out in everywhere now.

I hope it would like Trench run where new contents will be added later via update, in the current form, I guess it may get old a bit too soon (and AR is not as hot as some think), I would wait for a price change....

Actually, I'm having fun.
Graphics are decent, the original music is running, cut scenes from the movie are cool and I can shoot X-Wings in my bathroom

I don't get why they can't make the game playable on older devices without the AR functionality. I get that the AR is the main feature of the game, but even if I had a 4th gen iPod Touch, I would much rather shoot TIE fighters with the Death Star in the background instead of my bedroom walls.

Doesn't sound like this one's knocking anyone's socks off.

Too bad, I really enjoyed trench run. I have a feeling shooting Tie Fighters on my bathroom wall would get boring after about 5 minutes though.

Playing: Space Ace, Road Blaster, So Long Oregon, Necronomicon CG, 7th Guest, Deathsmiles
Waiting for: Mad Dog McCree, 11th Hour, Necronomicon CG update!
