-- Braveheart is a good, tough action game. Every time you play, you acquire something, whether its gold, a new level, a weapon upgrade, or a perk you always make progress. The spinning swing is a cool move, too; its fun to get up a head of steam and then arc into a horde of incoming enemies. Give it a download.
- IGN Score: 7.5 (Good).

-- Braveheart stands tall and proud, boasting refreshing controls, extensive character customization options and superb graphics.... The only real risk is once you get the game you wont have time for much else.
- Touch My Apps - 10/10

-- You just might even end up being surprised, like I was, that games of this quality DO exist for the iPhone.

A decent hack and slash/survival action game. Looks nice and is pretty fun but really bring anything special or new to the table. I'll still buy the full version anyways.

Game Impressions

I'm finding it a rather odd game. It's polished (though it crash on me once) the graphics and animation are decent, with some pretty sweet looking spells/special attack effects. But the core mechanic is, well, kinda weird. Your main mele attack is with a flail, and basically all you do is spin your character around to hit opponents. The ranges attack involves a hold/tap maneuver that feels a bit off at first. There is a story, a map, etc, but it feels like a thin veneer for wave-based survival game.

Feels pretty thin so far, but fun. Whenever the full is worthwhile will depend on how much variety there is to the gameplay.

I've played the first couple of levels, and it doesn't really feel like I'm *doing* much of anything.

You can buy Excalibur later on, so hopefully spinning and shooting crossbows are not the only forms of attack. I am hopping for more variety in enemies, but for iPhone game it's pretty good. I will probably pick up the full version when it comes out.

Did you get to the spellcasters yet? That's when it starts to get interesting - switching between your ranged and melee attacks with guys all around you. But yeah, the first couple of levels are warmups.

It's not a bad game - when I saw the video, I thought it looked cheesy, especially the attacks (the twirling around just looked silly and the rapid fire crossbow looked more like a machine gun). But after playing a bit, it's actually not bad - it reminds me a lot of iDracula, but with a story (illustrated very nicely with comic pages) and without the fast weapon switching.
