Shmup: Now with swipe control, gamecenter and multiplayer.

Hello all,

Here is my last game, I crafted the 3D engine with C, passion and bit of assembly in order to have the thing run at 60frames per second.

It is a shoot' em up, the kind of game that I enjoy the most because they are instantly fun.

It was challenging to work on Shmup 3D engine because I really wanted to have the thing run at 60fps even on old hardware like iTouch 2nd Generation or new hardware with a lot of fillrate such as iPad. In the end I am pretty proud of the result and I hope some people will enjoy it:

This does look promising, but there is one thing I am wondering: Do you have permission to use that music in the game? It was made for an old PC demo and copyrighs still pertain, if I'm not mistaken.

They aren't mine, just wanted you to know about this, in case you did not...

Regarding the music copyright: Yes, I contacted Future Crew and I have a deal with them.
They are even in the Credits page of the game !

Ikaruga is one of my top three favourite games of all time, you had my attention with the brief description.

Until now I only had Icarus x to fill the ikaruga shaped void on my iPad, I gotta say, this is really remarkable that you coded this all by yourself. It is very, very smooth and feels tight and responsive.

I would prefer the option for either a relative movement control setup as found in a lot of vertical shooters now a days, or at least the option to customise the button position.

Great work, and clearly made by someone passionate about shoot em ups. I'd recommend this...

Hey, cool little game you've got here, looks nice and really does run smooth as silk
Just wanted to ask if randomly generated levels and game center intergration are going to be added at all...
In my opinion a game like this needs game center...
Still, cool game and i wish you the best of luck with your future games

Thanks Smartbomb and Eng, I hope you've put those reviews in the appStore because so far reviews are not so great :/ !

Regarding gameCenter integration: I just finished it and I will send it to Apple tomorrow. There is only a leaderborard for now and I am thinking of the following achievements:

- Rookie: Completed Level One.
- Master: Completed Level Two.
- Maverick: Completed Level One without losing a single ship
- Wizard: Completed Level Two losing only one ship.
- Zen Master : Completed level One firing less than 10 bullets.

I will have to work on the icons as well so the achievement will be for Late December/Early January.

This new release will also have multiplayer over WIFI.
They are no randomly generated levels for now because it is hard to deal with in multiplayer.

Thanks for your feedback guys !

Nothing that I like better than a dev that is passionate about his work. I'll buy on that alone and I like some of the impressions so far. Hopefully will put some impressions up before too long...

Good job so far. Like the moving backrounds, musics and frame rate.
Game needs far more vibrant colors for ships and weapons. Looks like same ship patterns as ikaruga which is one of my favorite shmups. One of the most difficult as well.
