First it is in HD. Beautiful High resolution graphics, we've added 3 more ships, and several more planets (see screenshots) and a new type of enemy to fight - a rival star shipper.

So... What resolution does the non-HD yet universal version run at? It has always been my understanding that universal apps run at the iPad's native resolution. How do you get any higher definition than that?

I'm also wondering if the people who shelled-out for the original version are feeling peeved about the developer introducing an entirely different app instead of an update. I remember when the developer of Chalkboard Stunts pulled that on me. I was not happy...

ok, lets get technical

The regular non-HD version uses low res (320x480) textures that are stretched over the screen.
which means it's blurry and not HD-Sharp. the HD version featues textures that are 1024x768 (the iPad's rsolution) which means everything is sharp, and crystal clear. so yeah, its HD.
the reason we did the SD version universal was because we wanted people to play it with the proper aspect ratio and nice fonts on the iPad to begin with, even if they didn't buy the HD version.

Also the HD version includes extra features and more content like i mentioned earlier.

People who got the original version can also upgrade to HD at the price difference between the apps directly from their original app, check out the "Upgrade to HD" button in the original app that we added there in Update 1.06. the end result is the same. you get the new content and higher resolution with the original app as well, and just for the price diff between the two apps.

the HD features, isn't an update, it's an upgrade. it took us time, money and effort to make them, and like i'm sure like getting paid to do your job, i'd love to be rewarded for my own hard work, which means that I gracefully ask you to help me make more games and create new content by asking you to pay for it.

Does this satisfy your question?

hope you like the new content.
