Customer Testimonals:
- Man, did I ever love this game back in the day. The low droning sound of the spacecraft still haunts me. All I need now is a dark basement, an old Magnavox TV and a 2600 that sometimes works.

- OMG. Are you kidding me? I haven't seen this game in 20 years. BUYING NOW.

- Best 2600 game clone ever IMHO

- Gotta admit. Whoever it is that did this knew what they were doing. The game even has the original "comb" of black lines down the side where a few extra cycles were stolen to setup the next chunk of the screen. And it's not just because they took a screenshot of an emulator. The comb is all down the side, and can be seen in its entirety when the screen flashes. Impressive!

Mindfield's comments:
Didn't see a thread on this, so:

Lite version link

This is an exact clone of Imagic's Atlantis for the Atari 2600, right down to the sound effects. Doesn't appear to be licensed so I'm thinking this is gonna get yanked at some point, so get it while it's hot.

For some reason when I saw the thread title, I was expecting this to be a clone. The rights to most Imagic games are owned by Activision now, and with how quickly their legal dept. works in regards to IP I would expect this to be pulled sooner rather than later.

Of course, Activision doesn't see iOS gaming as a viable platform so who knows if they are even paying attention.

Oh, they'll pay attention to IP infringement, even if they don't pay as close attention to iOS as they do to console and PC gaming. Mind you this has been out for a couple of weeks now it seems, I just noticed it because it went on sale.

It's an extremely faithful clone, too, not just a game that tries to be similar, which pleases me greatly, since we have no legit 2600 emulator (yet).

I just noticed the Mii characters in the second screenshot. Two IP infringements for the price of one!

I can see this one slipping through the cracks for quite some time solely based on how generic the title is. No company names mentioned and Atlantis was a fun game but it wasn't exactly on Pac-Man levels of popularity.

True, plus it's not exactly high on any radars -- I missed it when it came out. Just the same it probably won't be around forever.

This looks cool and the fact that it may disappear from the app store at any moment makes it cooler!
