This is one of my new favorite TD games. It has a nice RPG element similar to Defender Chronicles.

Well looks like you can zoom in / out but there's no retina display . This is one of those games where you could really take advantage of the retina screen to play while zoomed out. The game has unusual loading times (for something like loading a hero stats it should be instantaneous on the iPhone 4). But so far the game looks and sounds great. The music is very catchy and suits the game very well.

Edit: The game also has some unusually long loading times (much longer than most iPhone games). Stuff like loading stats of a hero should be instantaneous if it were on another game... It's like they are trying to load from the web for simple unit stat data.

The loading times have been short for me, maybe 3-4 seconds at most. Did you reboot your iphone after downloading the game?

Can someone who played it make a deeper comment about the gameplay? That would be helpful.

Ha yeah there's the lite but often TD lite are too short to get a good idea of the game.

The lite version has 3 of the 21 levels, so it gives you a nice introduction to the gameplay and it's mechanics. If there is a specific question you have, I will do my best to answer it.

I don't think $3 is too much for what you get, there are 21 levels and 12 heroes to level up and equip. The game isn't short either especially if you plan on beating all 3 difficulties and the later levels are no walk in the park even on easy.

The point is if you haven't a big name or isn't a well know developer with previous very successful app, many players will except from you a free or 1 buck game. That's a bit sad but it's how it's became now.

Anyway I'll try the lite and if I'll enjoy 3 bucks won't stop me but well I'm in an extreme minority and you'll learn it sooner or later.

I have never done a reboot for my iPhone 4 for any of the games / apps. But 3-4 seconds is a long time for loading a stats page, considering Rage HD loads in under 2 seconds for a whole level.
