-Apps that are not on the App Store -Emulators and Roms -Themes -5 icon dock -5 colunms vertically and horizontally, so that would be 25 apps per page -Lots of tweaks like SBSettings that lets you do many things, Bosspreffs, hiding apps, turning wifi with only one tap. -Categories: Folders that you can create to avoid 9 page limit -Stacks -Now cydia store is open and you can get other packages. Cons: -There isnt all that much. The only thing is if you have to send it for repair you have to restore the ipod so the jailbreak will be gone. Sometimes, if u have lots of things on it, it takes a lot to reboot and something it just freezes but thats like once every month lol and if you dont like it, you can always hit "RESTORE" on your itunes and the jailbreak will be gone! |

There is nothing to think about if you are even remotely skilled in using a PC - jailbreak it!

Underoath pretty much nailed the benefits of jailbreaking. You can even run applications in the background so you can resume at that same exact spot. Useful when you press the home and the app closes out but don't put you exactly where you were. You can even dl youtube videos directly to your device.
A few cons would be that as you dl more things from cydia, your iDevice will run slower. Also, you have a higher risk of seeing the endless apple logo when a install doesn't install correctly or something else funky happens (I think the risk is lower now since newer firmwares are here and increasing performance). If you update to a newer firmware, you have to restore/install new firmware and rejailbreak again and get all your sources/dl's over again. That could be a PITA. Also your battery life will take a hit. Not a huge hit but noticeable. So, basically install only things you will use so your device doesn't take a major performance hit. Pros:
Custom Themes Widgets! Folders (Categories) A Better youtube client Awesome custom games (Osu, for an example )5 Icon dock, columns, and rows Nice little tweaks for iPod users (Taking the "Videos" button from the homescreen on the iPod and just adding it to the "iPod") Ability to record videos on the iPhone Cons: A slight decrease in battery life (very slight) Nothing else! I highly recommend jailbreaking. I was skeptical when I first did it, but now I love my iPod more than I ever did before I jailbroke |

NO, you cannot get any app ever made (I'm assuming you mean the App Store) because that's ILLEGAL! Correct me if I misunderstood :P Usually (for me, i'm on a Touch 2G) my ipod doesn't crash out of any apps. The only exception is BIA, which doesn't start, but for a different reason. Plus if you're having crashing, you can kill processes using SBsettings or respring using SBsettings. Very useful tool! |
