The Terra Defender (free)

Saw this on appsniper, it looks interesting.

edit: just finished downloading and it's pretty fun. You throw these metallic spheres at incoming asteroids. Be careful though, your own projectiles can bounce back at you.

I always dread having to click on links too, especially when itunes isn't already open. It takes forever to load.

I took a look at this and it's a missile command clone and not much else to it. If you're looking for a missile command-type game, I suggest you look at First Contact. It's a 3D version where you can rotate the planet/resize the view, and it's pretty decent.
