I think that the five dollar asking price is completely reasonable given the quality of this game.

It's fun to get things for a dollar or for free, but I think you're more likely to play and enjoy stuff when you bought it intentionally because you wanted it, not just because it's cheap.

And I say that as a fellow app addict -- though my collection is half the size of yours. I thought I had it bad, but I'm all "quality over quantity" compared to you.

Analogy: Better to have one 64GB iPad 3 than a whole bunch of Kindle Fires and Nexus 7s.

I agree with everything you said. Not everyone likes the same games though so it all depends on what the games are worth to each individual. I guess my point is that as prices get very low I end up buying games that I never would have normally bought. I actually wish other developers didn't reduce prices because I wouldn't have so many games in my queue to play which is really just wasted money for me. It is just hard for me to not grab games when they get drastically reduced in price. I end up over extending that $30 a month limit because of it.

I will stop this off topic conversation now because I am sure the developers do not want to discuss my *issues* in this thread .

I get what you mean but it sounds like we would need to reduce it to 99c and while it is a great game (thanks to everybody who thinks so!), it is unlikely that it would generate 5x the number of sales. We are working with a licensor here so the revenue also needs to be split so reducing the price doesn't make much sense.

If you have a $30 budget, why not go for 2 big purchases at $5 dollars and 20 99c games. Even then you would still end with 22 games to play over a month!

How about 1.99 or even 2.99? I think you're not accounting for the "movement" you can get from a sale. Sales bring blog posts (especially if you drop a note to Toucharcade - I think they'd mention it). I haven't seen anything on Toucharcade referencing this game in forever, and I check here like every other day, or at least once a week.

Spikes in sales raise the app on lists, forums, etc. New users might ask questions, raising activity in forums more. Activity increases, publicity increases, exposure increases. People who missed the sale might still be caught in the activity shortly thereafter bringing more sales at your regular price. Consider the loss in revenue on the sale price to be marketing/advertising budget.

It pays for itself.

I wouldn't be so sure about that.

If your motivation is that you can't afford a game, don't buy it. You've apparently been watching it for 8 months - surely, surely you could've saved $5 in that time.

If you genuinely care about the game and want it to have more sales, asking for a price drop isn't the way to go.

If I were to buy every app I want to buy each month I would be spending way too much money each month ($100 I suspect or more) and not have time to use them all (which is already the case). Yes there are that many apps each month I want. I have a list of apps on appshopper.com that are all in a few categories which range from must buy to only partially interested in. That list is huge. I have to pick and choose which apps I really want each month based on it. Apps that get reduced get bumped up that list and usually get purchased immediately at some price point depending on how interested I am in that app. It is really that simple. I would pay any price immediately up to $30 (yes seriously) for a port of Frontier Elite 2 for instance. Others wouldn't even download it for 99 cents or even free (some don't play games). Everyone has different tastes of course. The big question is how much difference do sales make at different prices for developers compared to never having a sale. I have no idea what that answer is. Some developers might have some idea. The developer of this app might for all I know and that is why they don't reduce the price. They created this app so they certainly have some smarts .

For those that really like this type game they are going to buy it for the current price which is well worth it for a game someone really likes. Not everyone likes the same games though. There are some that might only be partially interested in a game like this. Reducing pricing can influence the decision to buy for those that would normally not buy them. I don't claim to understand everyone who buys apps... I only have my own behavior to go by and suspect there might be more like me.

As I mentioned I really hope developers don't reduce prices and stick to a price that works for them from the beginning. This would make it easier for me to plan my purchases and not buy apps that i might not play because of time or just discovering I don't want to play it for long (I am not saying this particular game would fall into that category). I probably wouldn't play a game like this much honestly because I am not that much interested in it but it does spark my interest to the point that I am following it so that affects it's priority in my huge purchase list.

Let me be clear. Do not reduce the price of this game! Please?

Yeah I have downloaded this game for my i pad and I am very excited to play this game as it is full of adventure and mysteries. The screen shots are amazing. I have just one question doesn't it affect the system or any other application of your device.

I like the look of this, it looks right up my street.

Was going to buy it then I read all the description and saw that the games only last 30 mins. This for me is a dealbreaker, I love space exploration games and it looks good but I like long games, 30 mins would spoil it for me.

If a longer game was added an in update, I'd buy it instantly.
