Tempted to try it

Any body try this. Am I correct that this is a point-and-click similar (in gameplay) to something like BrokenSword?

And for anybody planing to download to please note:

From IGN

"Be warned, though: Riven is 1GB. That means you need 2GB of free space to install it. You might have to delete some apps of your device just to install it. Cyan also recommends you download Riven via iTunes on a computer instead of directly to your device.

Be warned, though: The game is insanely hard!

Four most influential games: Papi Jump, iDracula, Fieldrunners, Flight Control.

Is it harder than Myst or about the same?

Much harder. The puzzles in Riven require much larger leaps of pattern recognition and logic. I wouldn't say it's impossible, but it's definitely very difficult to beat this without consulting hints of any kind.

Looks like this will probably take me away from the real world for hours at a time then! Just have to download it at that price

It is harder/easier than Myst.

The game is designed to have easier puzzles near the beginning, with one big tough puzzle as a climax. And that works fairly well. The optional hotspot hints added for the iPhone version definitely make it easier than it was on the desktop back in the day!

And yeah, it's huge. Riven used to come on five CDs. There's a massive amount of territory to explore through.

Wow. Can now see why it's such a big app. Will be good to play without having to change discs though
