Just played the tutorial, I love how smooth it all is! The animations are well done. I like how they walk when they bob up and down :P

The tutorial gives you a rundown of the controls and how to attack, heal, use special powers, etc. Next, the game takes you to the Tavern, which is your Home/Hub. There are six options on it: Armory, merchant, Academy, tavern, Keep, and Battle!

The armory is for equipping items, the Tavern is for hiring members for your party, the merchant is where you buy items, Academy is where you equip/learn special powers.

Right now I'm exploring the home right now.

Just finished downloading, and I'm playing the tutorial now. The animations are very smooth and the graphics on the Retina display look excellent (as expected)! The music isn't too shabby either.
