iGame "from Apple"

how cool would this be for gaming experience for app store apps

There’s an exciting rumour that there’s a handheld gaming console being developed by Apple, called iGame. A couple of patents have been filed recently, which are patent for intelligent copyright in the gaming console and patent on multi-tasking touchscreen gaming. This show that the games could be available in iPod Touch and iPhone. This is the only segment of entertainment that Apple had not probed into yet.

Built in 64 GB Flash Memory to keep all games downloadable from iTunes.

Charging using Solar Technology is implemented, so the whole screen of iGame will be solar panel to extend battery life.

Choose target and weapon only by touching object on the screen.

iSight Technology made it possible to connect iGame with Wi-Fi to share a game with friends. iSight will retrieve pictures and will work as camera for video chat.

The home button in the center of the four arrows on the right seems like a bad idea.

I do like the bit about the use of solar technology.

That's just plain awesome.. I'm a little worried about the buttons though.

Without tactile feedback, getting the buttons positioned right'll be tricky. Finding the buttons with your thumbs should be natural. You shouldn't have to look at anything besides the screen.

if you want an iGaming console, why not just have an Ipod Touch?

Maybe that's the point, they're gonna stop making the iTouch and introduce the iGaming device, which is basically the same thing that has been optimized for gaming.

So you'll have an iPhone and iGaming, one focusing on being a cell phone, the other a gaming platform, while both still being able to to do Internet, Music, Videos and other apps. Probably an excuse to stop charging $100 less for the iTouch and get more money for it.

Edit: this article is from September though.

Might as well get a PSP, if you're into that.

I love having my phone, music, web AND games in one device -- I didn't buy it just for gaming, and never would.
