retroTrek - The Original Space Combat Game

This is a port of the classic Apple II game which itself was a port of a game developed for main frame computers in the early 70s. History and more are available at the link above.

The good news is that it plays exactly the the original BASIC Trek. The bad news is that it plays exactly like the original BASIC Trek. Make of it what you will.

Other than that, the presentation is quite good and the interface is slick. An on screen keypad replaces the need to type. The instructions are detailed and can be quickly scrolled through. This version has the library computer, but it's not required like in some versions.

If you have fond memories of BASIC Trek, get this. If it was before your time, this game will probably confuse you.

I might just get it .... that was the time I was programing in PCDOS (the M20) ... not that I am that old I was barely writing when I learned ASM.
