Challenge in a game is one of the things that makes it great. If there is no challenge the game becomes boring. Players just need to spend time with it. If you want to put IAP in, I'd rather it was different ships, or customizable ships (colours, patterns, etc). I love that kind of staff. When I played Dawn of War and Homeworld 2 I think I spent more time playing with colours and badges than actual game.

I cannot stand IAPs . In order for IAPs to not piss me and alot of other people off , it should remain purely cosmetics . Yes , fewer people will buy it but at least you don't piss the other group of people off who think that it's just giving an unfair advantage to those who bought it (this is just an example) .

We need to get over ourselves. So what if it may be perceived that an "unfair advantage" is given to late adopters. At least more people will get a chance to play and enjoy a spectacular game that we have come to enjoy. Don't you think that is important? This developer has served us faithfully by giving us a great game and by communicating with us after the fact in order to see how they can improve upon our experience. We wanted Retina Support, they are adding it. We wanted more levels, they are adding that too. We also wanted the crashes to be fixed and for the game to work on older gen units. Once again, they are on top of it. So now after listening to us and doing what we asked them to do, we are going to turn around and get mad at them because they want to add features that we may not like but others will? Is that how it works? Once again guys, we need to get over ourselves. The beauty of an IAP is that I don't have to buy it if I don't like it. So how does that effect me and my experience? It doesn't. I am not going to begrudge someone else or the developer for the IAP. What we may consider an "unfair advantage etc" may be just what someone else needs to get the same amount of satisfaction from the game as we have. Not everyone is at the same level. I say you go for it Monkube. Why? Because if this will help you generate more revenue, then I know that revenue will go to help in making another spectacular game. |

Why did developing games for consumers change to developing games for profit .

If devs want to implement IAP to extend the revenue stream of their products, let them. Consumers will decide how well they pulled it off and reward those who do it right and leave those who do it wrong with less money. |
