"Bastards is a solid FPS in the classic style of Doom, but what really won me over about it is the Old West theme." TouchArcade

"Bastards does a great job of visually creating a Western feel that makes the game feel unique and refreshing." SlideGamer

"While Bastards isnt the first Old West homage done as a FPS (remember Outlaws?), it is a mighty fine one. Indeed, one of the best things about Bastards is that it hardly feels like Doom." The Onion (A.V. Club)

I've played it a bit and I like it. There are three levels, the first of which if fairly large. There are three control schemes similar to the other "Doom" games. The weapons are knife, pistol, hand cannon, 2 pistols, dynamite, gatling gun, carbine, machete and shotgun. The screen does flip orientation if that's your thing if headphones get in your way. You can first start your ipod and play whatever music that you like (Morricone!) and it will continue to play once you load Bastards. Also of note is that the menu screen has Bastards: Episode I. For the price, I say go for it. Very spaghetti.

I don't know, from the video this looks to be a Doom mod with a different skin.

No. I'm guessing it's local. I only have one device so I can't check for sure.

It is a Doom mod, but it's one of the better ones I've played.

This looks fairly original and very fun to play, however how is the replay value or length of each level?
