Well, if they could always lift boats then the bug has always been there. What sort of transport chopper irl do you think could pick up a battleship?

Because this is a public forum and I could do without people blaring out about "big" bugs when they're really not. The iPad 2 thing was a big bug. The issue at hand seems to bother only you at this point, and I've already said I'll fix it soonest.

I told them to turn the sound off in the game. Because people who'd done that said it worked for them. If you remember we only recently recieved our own iPad 2 to figure the actual problem out. I honestly don't know what you expect of me here that you're not getting.

But honestly, why even argue about whether or not you consider it a "big bug" or not? I'm a customer who encountered it the very first time i began playing post-update, and since the bug didn't present itself until 45 mins into the game (when the choppers reached the target water), it ruined a pretty big chunk of playtime. To me, that's big.

Yes, it's now easy to avoid in the future, but that's kind of a patronizing attitude. It's like if you told ipad2 owners a few weeks ago that the crash problem was easy to avoid; just turn off the audio drivers!

Don't forget that i'm posting in this thread because i'm a fan who wants the game to be successful; i'm not just someone trying to point out every flaw I can find for the hell of it.
yo bro they just prioritizing.... I haven't done this yet, but if it isn't supposed to do that, and it's easy to avoid, it isn't TOO important. It'll get fixed soon, but I'm pretty sure they wanted to..... get GC achievements in, right? first.
Don't freak. They are excellent at getting things fixed and really quickly.

EDIT: ^beat me too it. I sneezed. That was the time difference.

@Monolith: I've played the game alot, maybe not as much as others, but definitely enough, and I haven't tried lifting naval units. Since you're the first one to actually encounter this problem, I suppose that means you're the first to do so. (not sure if this was in previous updates too)

But yeah, you aren't meant to lift naval units anyway, and can play through the game without doing so, so it's by no means a big bug. And as phattestfatty said, Rubicon does take in feedback and handles bug fixes pretty quickly. Some developers don't even check this forums, much less respond regularly.

As I said above, In testing I never would have thought to pick up a battleship with a chopper, I guess I was thinking too logically.
I tried to break the game (as encouraged by Rubicon) by being as abusive as I could. This for me entailed constant shut-down/restarting the app, running all my apps at once etc.
I probably played the game itself too straight but I have played the game a few times through now. In that time Paul and his team would respond quickly to problems and fix them quickly. This latest update had about four iterations as the devs reacted to our reports. If a game-play issue raised its head we were told to play maps in a certain fashion to repeat the fault.

The point I'm trying to make is this. Rubicon are not remote and they do care about this game, Paul himself would respond to my emails past ten at night. Any faults with this game will be fixed.

In the mean time don't pick up thousands of tonnes worth of armoured battleship with a Chinook ;-)

Great update. I too would say the way you sped up the killing seems way to rushed now. The first time I did that, I was wow, something's wrong.. Lol

Everything seems snapier now, no problems on iPad2 now, just amazing, you can tell the ai has been tweaked, cuz it a litle bit harder to beat now. They make smarter moves, which is cool.

I would ask that the zoom out be a little bit better. I like to see more of the map myself. Seems like still some room and be able to play and select units.

Loved the change when you buy units, like the redesign of the screen.

Off to cause more death to those little b@stards!!!!

Thanks, Gunther. Glad you all seem to be enjoying the new stuff.

To those that think its' too fast now, do you have anything specific to point at? Is this only with the "fast" animation on ? Have you tried it with "nice" animation? Etc.

I'm all for tweaking, as long as I know what to tweak - I've gotten used to how it is now. Already fixed the skyhook->cruiser epic fail.

It's with the nice animation I'm describing. There's no "drama" to the combat any more for lack of a better way to put it. There's no pause at any point and the animation length seems defined by the sound effects and voice clips. It's as if you calculated how long it takes to play "bang""You got me""Bang"Tango Down" in one continuous sound stream and gave just that many frames of animation to the combat (for all I know that's what you did do ).

Maybe no one else cares, but I enjoyed the combat animations (how many ever hours I played the Advance Wars games, they always kept the combat deliberately slow and I never turned it off except a few times on big skirmish maps). It's purely psychological and I'm sure there's plenty who don't care, but odds are they already turned on fast animation before this version. It doesn't need to be a long as it was, but there should at least be a bit of a longer pause between the voice clips and sound effects.

------

And count me in too as someone else who never even considered using a skyhook to air lift a naval unit

Not sure if this is a bug or just something I'm missing...

Playing the Skirmish map "Hex" (first map I tried), with all options set to 0 (Gold for start and per turn).

I go first and get 50 gold and build an engineer.

Red's turn they get 50 gold and they build 2 engineers. (Already made me go "huh?")

Day 2. I get 50 more gold and build another engineer.

Red gets 50 more gold and pops out 2 more units.

Is this a bug or does Red's units cost less and I just missed that note somewhere?

PS. BTW, noticed now a flag letting you know what the unit is when you tap on it. Thanks so much for adding that in there!!
