GUI revamp is important!

Hey everyone,

While working with some developers and testing our beta-SDK we came across a lot of apps which need face-lifts and GUI changes.

We decided to revamp one of our beta tester's apps, with our design team, and realized there is a big demand for this! A sweet looking icon, nice game play-time graphics, nice UI and UX are an essential part of a great app.

So we're looking for more clients! If anyone is interested in getting their graphics redone, please reach out to us We would love to get your business. Rates depend on number of levels, screens, etc.

Check out an example of what we did:

Here are the before and after pics of a pretty cool app we redesigned, called Scrambleface:

-UI: http://www.rv.nu/scr/before_after_UI.png

Looking forward to your comments and input - drop us a private message or email support@rv.nu

to be honest the end result looks, yes better.. but also very generic..

standard photoshop shapes all the way.. and overall.. it doesnt really "pop"..

its surely better, but it doesnt reflect at all what the game is about..

the icon is just generic.. and completly misses the point of the relevant point in designing an icon

it need to tell a potential customer what the app is about.. and "SF" doesnt tell you anything..

yes the previous icon was bad.. but the new one only looks better without being an actaly better icon..

as for the gui revamp.. completly lacks any indivuality.. this could have been applied to a dozen other apps.. which is always a bad sign..

good luck with your biz and scramble face with sales..

End result looks great. Have to say that anything would have been better than the originals.

@Arta and mr.Ugly thank you for your input. I completely agree with the logo comments. My team will go back to the drawing board on that one

Perhaps for the begginers on this forum and to spark a useful conversation, let me ask you:

What do you suggest for new and aspiring developers who want to get to your level, what would you advise them to do in terms of graphic design? Should they focus more on game-play or a combination of both? And if so - perhaps aligning yourself with a synergistic design partner or publishing company is the way to go?

The people you really need to attract are the casual gamers who are browsing the App Store looking for pretty icons and screenshots. There are people around who will play games with great gameplay and bad graphics, but they're the minority, most people make judgements based on their first impressions.
