Game Impressions

Surprisingly, not that bad. In story mode you complete missions, some of which does involve scanning barcodes of Ninjago toys with certain items in them HOWEVER you can also type them in, so you probably could just get the barcodes off the internet somewhere.

There's also a battle mode where you make and customize your own character and battle against enemies and in an arena, both of your choice (most needs to be unlocked however).

The actual gameplay consists of tapping the screen to spin up, and tilting the device to knock into enemies, dealing damage and/or taking damage. Very simple, but I appreciate that it calibrates the tilt before each match. Many of the arenas are dynamic with pitfalls and area hazards, but fortunately you don't immediately die if you fall off (you just get dealt some damage and respawn).

There are a tonne of items to collect and equip to your character (namely head/body parts, weapons and spinners). They affect your stats; attack, defense, health and weight (weight being used to knock back your opponents and stop being knocked yourself).

The basic gameplay is fairly simple and the barcode thing may rub some people the wrong way but hey, its free, it has decent replay value and its quite fun. I recommend at least giving it a look.
