lol my 4-yr old grabbed my iPad tonight and started playing this. Since it was right before bedtime we weren't able to really play but tomorrow my 9 yr-old has decided that it's ON with the DA frag fest!

We really do need a non-lethal food-throwing mod for this. That would be wicked awesome, eh?

Oh, and hats!

Hehe... Food-le Army...

In the meantime, you can turn off blood effect under Setting>Configure to make it just a little more family friendly.

Why wait and let a stranger introduce the kids to machete warfare? Talk to your children about Doodle Army 2; before someone else does...

You see little Sally when you machine gun decapatate someone they just respawn over here... [will Polly the goldfish respawn too? Wait 30 seconds and find out...]. Just think of the untapped mortality lessons made possible with the technology of video games.

Errr, yeah... no. I'm all in for kids playing video games, as long as they can differentiate game from reality, so teaching a kid that stuff respawns after dead, not in my religion at least, lol.

@cjsbug, I didn't know about the blood switch so I'm glad you brought that up. Thanks.

@everyone else .... Just so you don't think horrible things of me, I don't let my kids play shooting games. None of them have every played any of the COD games and about the only shooting games on iOS they get to play are the ones where there's only targets or robots (like in DA's case). However, we'll throw around some NOVA or Minigore (something where the people look like robots or monsters (at least less human) and not real people like the MC games) multiplayer from time to time with each other. They aren't allowed to play online unless it's a local family game.

I really like the game design of DA and would really like to see some of the things undeadcow said about using fishes and frozen peas. It would allow concerned parents the ability to play it with their younger kids and it would add a lot of humor to the already incredibly humorous game. The foundation is already there.

@burn Chillingo's Rocket Riot is very similar to Doodle Army 2 but more cutesy with yellow pixels instead of blood, there may be guns but they're toted by a floating lego style pirate or teddy bear or othrr skin. It's single player only but frantic and fun so it might not be too take to pull a switch on the kids.

Having grown up with NES to SNES then Command & Conquer, Duke Nukem and Doom I played violent games but mostly clearly sci-fi or unreakistic and nothing like he latest batch since Grand Theft Auto changed he playing field. Now that my daughter is turning 4 I share concerns about quality family games that aren't shovelware.

Rocket Riot looks awesome! Too bad there's no multiplayer...
