The surprising thing is that Apple does very little iDevice repair. They will not change batteries, if you take in a dead battery they will offer you a reconditioned unit for ~$109. In some cases that might be a good deal but not for my 3G.

Well I had to fix my iPod classic not too long ago suffered a little bit of water damage and no apple store close by!
