I have just been won over by this officially sanctioned port of the great online game, Entanglement:

While this iOS port is not as pretty and atmospheric as the one shown above, it catches the gameplay dead-on and adds an all new fun Gold Rush mode that doesn't exist in the online version. There is also a more expensive iPad version (as far as I know identical to this iPhone version other than the rescaled graphics).

Nice game.

It should be noted that there's an online version of the official game here for those who want to try before they buy.

It seems like such a simplistic idea but it gets addictive and is such a rush when you manage to latch onto a path that takes you around the board some 7+ tiles without hitting a wall in a single turn!

Oh for sure... completely with you. And I love this kind of game... something that appeals to that inner child who loved drawing lines through mazes.

Y'know... I hate it when you bring this kind of game to my attention. It lingers... like that infamous last wafer thin mint, even though you know eating it will cause some form of fatal combustion. Try as you might, you know eventually you'll give in...

The Gold Rush mode, not available online, is too cool!

While I can't claim I totally understand it, now every tile you lay will have a golden vein which, if you cross, will give you a golden nugget which means a couple of extra points right then and there and even MORE if you manage to connect it to one of the "Gold Mine Entrances" (what isn't clear is if the bonus gained then is a flat thing or based on how many veins you crossed since you last mine check-in in the game).
