Water, Air, and the Sun are the three elements that power the world. Balance these three forces of nature and see how long - and how big - you can grow your trees!

Instructions:
Tap your screen and drag each element to arrange them. The elements counter each other out, so the goal is to keep them in equilibrium!

How it Works:
- Water (rain) helps the trees to grow and gets rid of dry land. But let it rain too much and you will have excess water on the land.
- Sun reduces this excess water on the land, but too much of it will create excess dust.
- Air (wind) reduces the growth of trees, makes the land cracked and dry, but it also blows away the excess dust.

In addition:
- Items will fall randomly as you increase your score. Tapping on the items will help you to restore the earth's balance.
Too much water, dust, or dry land will be the end of the game.
As you balance the elements, your score will increase! How long can you keep the trees free from disaster?

Three Trees is a unique 3-panel puzzle game, which started as a prototype named "Water, Air, Sun", developed in 11 hours during the 360 iDev GameJam http://gamejam.360idev.com/water-air-sun/ with the theme "Change the World".

Game Impressions

Three Trees is certainly one of the better Rock, Paper, Scissors variants I've played. Each element, earth, wind, and sun has a benefit and a drawback. Managing the aforementioned resources and time is the goal. When you see water filling up a tree section, swipe the sun over. When the sun bakes the ground, swipe the wind over to blow it away. If the wind cracks the ground, bring back the rain. What's fun is that you need to multitask, between all three tree sections, in order to prevent disaster. One-shot power-ups also fall from above, to deal with emergencies. The longer you last, the higher you score on the OpenFeint and Game Center leaderboards.

My concerns are lasting power and possibly power-up hoarding. Does it really matter? No, I'm already happy with the experience to price ratio. Is it ground-breaking? No. Does it have a positive message? Yes. Was it developed in 11 hours? Yes, again. I think it's a great achievement not only because of the limited timeframe, but because the developers chose to make a difference in that 11 hours. Sort of proves how easy it is. Makes you think, doesn't it? It's all about balance, which is as easy as riding a bike. Quite literally.

I haven't seen one, but you can play an online version at Kongregate. It's a nice game. If I didn't already have too many recently downloaded puzzle games, I would have already gotten this.
