PAX Preview: Star Command Combines Sci-Fi Strategy, Red Shirts

Your job as the omnipotent captain is to usher troops to relevant activities, with each crew member color coded to their specialty. Red shirts fight off enemies that beam themselves aboard your ship, blue shirts heal your crew, and yellow shirts put out fires and deal with hull breaches.

Still, the bugs were minimal even for an early build and the Warballoon team could scarcely contain their ideas for improvement. Individual crew member leveling, upgraded death animations, loads of new enemies, story-based events, missions, and a more robust space battle system are just the ideas the team was willing to part with.

The current built was presented on the iPad and it seems to fit that resolution best, but the game’s art director Jordan Coombs showed me the operational build on his iPhone. Somehow, the game scarcely takes any graphical degrade and manages to remain playable thanks to a handy and efficient zoom.

Woo Finally. Id gave up checking this thread for the past few weeks/months as I was just getting all excited, with no end in sight.
But hopefully now the end is near. :-)

Finally some live-action of the game = looks heaps of fun & presentation will shine on my iphone I think.

Be v good to see the enemy using tactics that mirror your own eg their "version" of a medic fixing the wounded up back to fight etc. Nothing like "Yeesh, these ant guys are freakishly good/coordinated!"
