App description: You are Krumb, a dwarven pitman with the quest for mighty artifacts. On your journey through mysterious mines, swamps and dungeons you will encounter many dangerous enemies, from the malicious cave goblins to the enormous trolls. Drink from health fountains, open treasure chests, collect a wide range of food, weapons and magical items and use them wisely - to eventually stand your ground against the perils that await you!

Initially made for the "Seven Day Roguelike Challenge" the game got a complete overhaul. Pitman will let you die a thousand deaths ... and make your survival especially satisfying!

Features:
* RPG - create the hero you want, like a dwarven sorcerer or a powerful warrior
* turnbased - for a tactical course of action
* 3D boardgame style - build the world while playing
* randombased - no game will be like the one before

IMPORTANT: The game was only tested on an iPad and on an iPod Touch G4. Users told us that it works on 3G, too.
It will not run on devices of the first or second generation. Sorry for the inconvenience!
If you have any bug reports, please don't hesitate to mail us (click on "Pitman Support" and select one of the E-Mail addresses), and tell us the circumstances of your problem.

There is also a Free version which lets you test the game before buying!

I've been playing Pitman for about an hour or two, have died twice already and am now on my third run. So far I've learned a few things and find the game good fun. There is a Fargoal vibe going on here. While the game offers a choice music (Random, Track 1, Track 2, Track 3, or None) unfortunately there are no sound effects at present... which is a certainly a pity, as I think a good sound design would improve the atmosphere immensely.

From the dev's website I gather that the basics of the game were created at a 7 day rogue-like challenge that took place just 6 weeks ago (beginning of March) so they have accomplished a lot in a very short period of time.

Let's hope they continue to work on it.

So are there any records kept at all?

I don't think so, nor did I actually see anything like a score in-game.

None that I've seen during my time with the game. But it does have 6 save slots and a load button...

I think they'll definately continue working on this title.
It has too much potenrial to be left alone and unfinished.
It's like a rough diamond... you already see a bit of the beauty, but it has to be cut and polished in its true form.
Nonetheless, the amazing part is indeed what these devs created in just 6 weeks - amazing! *looks over to Commander Data, smiles and raises an eyebrow*

I'll invite them to this thread!

Hi, you seemed to be lost on the Internets.
This is TouchArcade, where 2$ for a game is too much, 5$ is an outrage, and 10$ or more is putting sugar in their car tanks whilst killing puppies.

Wow, it is a team of two devs, Jana and Friedrich, and these two are even German!

Great Vovin thank you! (You have of course noticed that they are countrymen of yours...)

Having played Pitman a bit more I entirely agree with you. There is enormous potential here -- for example in the manipulation of the 'card sections' which comprise the the 3D 'game board'. Having laid down my default quota of cards (and eating everything I could find on them) I just used one of the runes to destroy a card in order to draw a new one...

Very nice.

That's where the huge strategic potential comes in... I noticed it, too.

I'm definitely interested, but I will wait to see if the devs will pop in and let us know what their future plans are, i.e. if they will do any post-release updates, etc.

No sound effects and no end-game scores are keeping me back, for the moment. Let's see where this goes.
