NEW LOOK!

Hello,

My name is Emmanuel and I'm the one-manned army over at SkyKey Games and I'm currently working on my first game for the iPhone/iPod Touch titled A Cloudy Adventure. I've been a lurker around here for a while, mostly on the developer boards but I wanted to drop in and share my progress with the community.

It's for me to label this game with a genre but I guess it's sort of a platformer/puzzle/thingy. I'll just let the video do the talking for me. Wait, it is me in the video talking.....

This is a walk through video of the recent beta release of the game.

There's more coming for ACA including longer levels and more characters to interact with, so stay tuned for that.

OLD LOOK
Here are a couple old screenshots for good measure, it's evolved a bunch, eh?

I applicate your time and feedback is certainly welcome.

Thanks!

Here is a preview of the 2nd world in the game, Three Hat Mountain, as well as some general improvements to the overall game.

Thanks for this preview. These physic puzzlers like Cut the Rope and Landa Panda are really making strides on the Appstore and this looks like a great addition as well. You posted during a busy period (especially today with all the big releases) but posters will see this eventually and see how it looks. Keep polishing, it looks great!

I don't like the art style, but it does look fun!

I would have to agree with SesomePower. The gameplay looks cool but the art style just seems rather bland. Please take this as a constructive criticism.

Best of luck with ACA.

What do you reckon is bland? The characters, the backgrounds or all of the above?

Thanks!

I actually like the square shaped characters. It's the background I'm not to keen on. It just looks as if there's something missing. It kind of feels as tough it was rushed and thrown in at the last minute and I'm certainly NOT saying that was the case here. But then again maybe that was done on purpose to fit the concept of the game.

Thanks for the feedback, I'll have to revisit the backgrounds at some point soon. I do agree that they're kind of flat. That was the look I was going for but, it doesn't seem to be working that well. I think the BGs need to be rendered better to tie in with the cartoon aspect of the characters.

Maybe try adding a little more detail tot he background. Or maybe simple animate it, like having clouds and birds fly along slowly in the background, have the sun shimmer, or have the trees bounds along with the music.
