MECAPIX - Retro Shooter - Screens and Video

Hi retro addicts!

We have a new game with solid gameplay coming your way on iPhone and iPod Touch: MECAPIX.

We held a preview at GDC back in March with Brad, where we highlighted all the cool features. If you missed it, you can check it out here:
http://toucharcade.com/2011/03/01/gd...pace-invaders/

Today we're releasing more gameplay footage and the newest details.

The game offers:
- Super fresh look
- Old-school shoot ‘em up gameplay (=Tough)
- Nice touch controls
- 3 worlds, 27 levels, cool boss fights, etc.
- (New) arcade mode: endurance, play until you die
- (New) 2 difficulty settings: Normal and Easy

We've got some new screenshots here:

The game is definitely inspired by classics like "Space Invader" and "Tetris", and is NOT inspired by "Angry Birds" or "Cut the Rope"... hard to believe?

Some people believe they have seen Zombies in the game. I don't know what to say, but this wasn't intentional. These people have really good imagination though.

Others, who probably live in another century, have mentioned being interested in a port to this device.

We'll send a PROMOCODE when the game is released to the first person that gives us the name of the device.

Stay tuned, the release is happening very soon!

Feel free to share your impressions or ask any question

The game is developed by Robotalism Games and Massive Finger.

Wow that was fast, ryder1920, that's the right answer! Congratulations!
We'll send you a promocode by private message as soon as the game is out.

Ok, obviously there are experts here! A harder one, we give an other PROMOCODE to someone who owns a Microvision, if he can post a picture of the console in front of the MECAPIX homepage.

That might take some time. And guys, no photoshop please

This looks like a lot of fun. What's sad is that I do have a Microvision with about a half dozen of the games (Star Trek, Pinball, etc.) from back in the day, but have no idea where it is in storage, lol. It really does look like a game that would've been great on there too, yes.

Thanks for your support, AnarKitty. And I agree, Microvision changed everything, forever Like the iPhone I think.

As you eagerly await the release of the game, here are some additional screenshots to wet your appetite.

Snakes in forest, the second world of the game.

Endurance Mode, this is another way for you to play the game, it's some kind of infinite mode.

Endurance Mode.
