Bloons is LIVE! on the App Store

Hey Guys,

One of my favourite online PC games 'Bloons' is now live on the App Store.

If you like casual puzzle action then I'm sure you'll love this!

I though it was Bloon's tower defense and couldn't click the link fast enough ... hopefully it will be coming soon

Well, the same guys that made Bloons made Bloons TD, so I wouldn't be surprised if that was next.

It looks pretty good but I thought the same thing, I'd snap it up for $0.99 but for $2.99... not quite. I can play the game online for free. I don't mind paying $0.99 for ports of flash games (like Bowman) but $2.99 just isn't my price point. I'll wait for a price drop.

I think refusing to buy a game because it's free online is a slightly strange way of looking at things.

With Bloons on the iPod you're getting 50 new levels you won't be able to play on the PC. And you'll be able to play it whenever you want without having to be at your PC or on the internet. These two things are probably worth paying for alone.

That said, I'm going to be holding off getting this for a short while. Bloons is one of my all-time favourite online games and I'm very tempted by the iPod version. But I've got a sneaky feeling that the price may need to drop some time soon. I think $2.99 for a starting price is slightly too high and I think they will need to lower it to get the interest in the game that they want.

Video games and apps reviewed at News Shopper, a newspaper site in London, England. I'm manager of this site, which gets more than 1.4 million page impressions a month. Any devs wanting your games reviewed, please contact me. (I have a US iTunes account)

Personally, I would have preferred a new Bloons TD to this, but if people enjoy this game then all is good.
