I love Breakout games as it was this genre that first exposed me to good mobile games. However, great ones come few and far between...however, this one looks like a winnah. Bought.

Why does it say the game was released on the 19th of May?

No idea, but that kind of stuff happens all the time. For instance look at two other of tonights releases, TD:LE says released May 9, and To-Fu: The Trials of Chi says released May 17. Maybe it's the day the submission was received?

I guess it's some random app store bug...To-Fu is actually May 26 for me.

Love the visuals, power ups. Hate the paddle. It lags. It needs to be one to one, not relative. The Gravity touch is fast, but it will take getting used to and is not initially intuitive ( to me). Still, a definite pickup for BB fans, but I hope others agree that the paddle needs to be much more responsive.

While its very refreshing to play a unique brickbreaker such as this one and think its a terrific game, I too must agree of the paddle lagging abit behind. Still worth playing and will continue to do so.

The only game released today that got my attention and my money. That trailer totally convinced me. Downloading now.

I don't think I'd say the paddle lags exactly, it just has a maximum speed, and can't move as fast you can move your finger. And it's definitely not relative, it goes exactly where your finger is. I'm kind of getting used to it, and I think it was probably intended to add to the challenge of the game. All brick breakers with hardware controls have a maximum movement speed for the paddle, so why not the same for a touch control one? Anyway, I agree the paddle could have a faster top speed, but too fast, or instant, would make the game too easy I think. I'm going to play some more before I really make up my mind about this though.

Those were more or less my thoughts as well. The paddle speed seems more a design choice than a technical issue. Whether it should be faster or not is debatable. Personally I was probably leaning towards "yes" at the start then seemed to get used to it after a few levels.
