ShootStorm - universal iOS neo-retro arcade action

ShootStorm is a fast paced arcade game in the style of Tempest and Gyruss, although it definitely isn’t a clone of either. Fully 3D and with retina graphics.

Controls are very simple because firing is automatic. One finger on a dial when playing with touch controls (left and right handed options, plus the control extends some way beyond the graphic so it is hard to slide out of the active area in the heat of action). Just move the device in tilt mode.

There are Game Center high scores and 39 achievements.

ShootStorm was originally called TiltStorm, but there was a lot of negative comments about the tilt controls. I added touch control options and made them the default, but people are still put off by the name, so it has changed.

Wow! This looks properly cool..!! I'll be sure to grab this.

Once I've had a chance to spend a good 30-60mins with the game, I'll be sure to report back here with a review and impressions for my fellow Touch Arcadians.

This is a really nice game. Excellent touch controls (especially on the iPad with the larger circle area,) simple, fun, smooth gameplay. Minimum price, universal, and lite available. Ticks every box.

An excellent game, especially for fans of "tube shooters". Definitely recommended. The original TiltStorm version was fun, and the dev has kept improving it regularly.

ShootStorm has been updated to version 3.1.

There is a new Game Center Achievement. All you have to do is rate the app.

It also fixes some bugs, including one that stopped that game working on some older devices.

I have also dropped the price to $0.99.

Looks like theres not much for me this week... Just bought, so far, really enjoying this one! Haven't experienced any lag or framerate issues, and I'm lovin the controls. =oD
